Join The Green Revolution Auburn Avenue is known as the cradle of the Civil Rights movement.  The Southern Christian Leadership Conference was established on Auburn Avenue in 1958.  Currently Rainbow/PUSH, and the Georgia Coalition for the Peoples Agenda call Auburn Avenue home.  The Churches, i.e. Ebenezer Baptist,  Wheat Street Baptist, Big Bethel AME, along with the Butler Street Y all played major roles in the struggle for civil and voting rights.

Now we face a new challenge.  That is the challenge of saving the planet.

Just as we took direct action to change laws in the fifties, sixties and seventies  we must take action now to change the way we live.

Think Green, think Walk, think Solar, think Recycle, think Tele-Commute, think Public Transportation, think Car Pool, think Bike, think Alternative Fuels, think Energy Conservation.

We are in the Green Revolution.  There are those that will say that we can not Live Green, that the cost is too high and the task is too hard but I say to you we can.

The focus of the Sweet Auburn festivals is to advance the LiveGreen movement. Watch for details on how you can get involved.
