inaugural 5k run/walk
The Inaugural Sweet Auburn Restoration & Health Assurance annual 5K FUNRUN/WALK is designed to augment the Springfest by continuing to raise awareness of the great history and heritage of the Sweet Auburn district by connecting the Martin Luther King Jr., National Historic Site and the Center for Civil and Human Rights site. Funds will be used to help with the restoration and redevelopment of Auburn Avenue. purpose & goalsOur primary goal is to preserve the rich heritage of Atlanta’s most historic district, the ‘beloved’ community where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., lived, worked and engaged, ensure the history is always remembered and assist in the building and redevelopment of a grand and prosperous future for our descendants.Run/Walk in memorial and memory to all of those who gave their lives on our behalf in the many wars that our nation has faced and in the struggle for civil and social justice. Bring your family and friends and join us for a historic run/walk and a day of fun. Strollers are welcome.
